Where are we?

The Sisters arrived at the call of Monsignor Landru on December 27, 1951, for education. The Sisters have been in Bamako since August 1991.

We strive to live first and foremost the spirit of the Sisters of the Guardian Angel to promote and radiate around us by being Visible Angels.

The community, an essential element in the education of young people, must become a “witness” to the values of religious life by expressing them boldly.

We support a group of young girls in vocational search to become Sisters of the Guardian Angel.

We are close to the population through our mission:

  • Youth ministry
  • Support for some groups and movements, catechism
  • In a health centre, giving first aid to the sick
  • In a women’s promotion centre, through the training and empowerment of women
  • In teaching in a private school

We arrived in this country in 1969, responding to the call of Bishop Rafael M. Nze Abuy, to address the need to provide quality education, based on human and Christian values, especially to women.

Today we continue to promote the mission to which we are sent, proclaiming the Life of the One who sends us and captivates us: Jesus, through:

  • Youth ministry
  • Catechesis
  • Care and attention to vulnerable people
  • Above all, education ministry

We offer an education that welcomes and promotes the person and helps them find their place in society on the basis of their own gift.

We are encouraged by the joy of feeling sent, passionate about the Lord, on mission:

Like the Angel we are called to guide, to enlighten, to accompany, to care for and to protect, to listen to reality, to proclaim and to denounce and to discern the way to be a visible sign of God where we are.

A community with two presences

One in the commune of Abobo, BC district, since 2001, and the other in Bingerville – village of Adjamé-Bingerville, founded in 2009.

Community formed by five sisters of four nationalities.

Like the Visible Angels who listen, accompany, contemplate and bear witness to the Good News, we want to be for the people of God an attentive community, on the move, committed to protecting the planet and defending life.

Blessed Louis A. Ormières tells us that God does not ask us to be “heroic” in great actions, it means for us to live those small attitudes and small gestures which allow us to enjoy what is our life of communion with God and our community experience of fraternity and solidarity with others…” (XXV CPG)

The formation house: the postulancy

This is the most important aspect of our mission: young women in search of their vocation, after a process of vocational accompaniment, begin here their first stage of formation for religious life.

We feel the urgency to build our community and recreate our fraternity from the “culture of care” as a way to combat the culture of indifference, waste and confrontation”…

We live with gratitude the gift of fraternal life, centered on Jesus Christ. We accompany our brothers and sisters in their vulnerability, with a particular closeness to the most vulnerable.

We are committed to the care and defense of life through concrete actions towards eco-sustainable lifestyles that help us take care of the planet and live more austerely.

I am quite sure that you already love the good name of Sisters of the Guardian Angel.
